Pantothenic acid is called vitamin B5, which is composed of pantothenic acid and b-ala. Only type D ([a]=+37.5) has biological activity.Pure free pantothenic acid is a light yellow viscous oily substance, acidic, soluble in water and ethanol, insoluble in benzene and chloroform pantothenic acid, unstable under acid, alkali, light and heat , and plays an important role in maintaining the health of hair, skin and blood.
